Chicago Jazz Festival Sept. 2-5

Today is the start of the 32nd Annual Chicago Jazz Festival which will take place all Labor Day weekend. The concerts will be held in 3 venues around sweet home Chicago in Millennium Park, Chicago Cultural Center and Grant Park. The festival times for the 4 days are:
  • Thursday: 12p.m.-4p.m.
  • Friday: 12p.m.-9:30p.m.
  • Saturday: 11a.m.-9:30p.m.
  • Sunday: 11a.m.-9:30p.m.
All concerts, all 4 days are FREE making this one of the most premiere events for the holiday weekend. The Jazz Festival is Chicago's longest running lakefront music festival which has drawn musical artists Ramsey Lewis, Nicole Mitchell, Kurt Elling, Rene Marie along with many other acts for this year's lineup. Tall Ships Chicago at Navy Pier


From August 25th and through August 29th, there will be more than 20 historic tall ships from around the world at Chicago's Navy Pier. 

This family-friendly event includes the chance for visitors to view all of the ships, board up to 12 of the vessels and even take daily sails aboard five of the tall ships.

Ships will be docked in three locations at Navy Per: Nautical Mile (North Dock), Canada Cove (NW Wall at the front of the Pier) and America Alley (SW Wall at the front of the Pier).

The event also offers fun activities for kids at the Children's Village, international entertainment at three festival stages, and nightly fireworks shows.
